Keela Farnon, a transition year student from our school has won a competition with graduate.ie. This was a free online civic awareness competition for Second Level Students to take part in and learn about important Local and National topics. Keela has won a four day trip to Strasbourg. She will spend one full day at the European Parliament where she will take part in Euroscola which is a youth parliament and will involve taking part in a number of pre -selected topics about E.U. with students from other member states. She will also get the opportunity to visit other places of educational interest while on the tour. The mission of the competition is to engage, inform and inspire young people. Graduate.ie has been in operation since 2001. It is a government, local government and EU Funded Citizenship and Democracy Programme for second level students in Ireland. This prize was kindly sponsored by Bons Secours, Galway and the European Parliament. Well done Keela.
